Boeing Names New Leader in South Carolina, Additional Organization Changes Streamline 787 Program

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., June 9, 2016The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) announced today that Joan Robinson-Berry will assume leadership of Boeing South Carolina (BSC), succeeding Beverly Wyse. Wyse has been named president for the company’s Shared Services Group (SSG), Boeing’s multi-billion dollar operating unit that provides common internal services across the company’s global enterprise.

“With SSG touching every part of Boeing, Beverly’s in-depth business unit knowledge, her extensive program management experience and her proven ability to successfully implement productivity initiatives will differentiate the company as we strive to become more efficient and competitive,” said Boeing Vice Chairman and Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. “To succeed Beverly, we looked for a leader for BSC who could continue the great work that is being done on growing the company’s presence in South Carolina and implementing improvements across the site that our teammates bring forward. Joan’s strengths naturally align with these requirements.”

Robinson-Berry has a broad range of experiences throughout her 30-year Boeing career including most recently serving as vice president of Supplier Manager for SSG, where she was responsible for the overall strategy, contracting, and development of non-production goods and services for the Boeing enterprise. Prior to that position, she led Supplier Management for Phantom Works, and has held numerous other leadership positions at Boeing.

“Joan has broad Boeing experience and is known as a strong advocate for employees, a results-oriented leader and a community builder. The South Carolina team and community have a true partner that will continue to strengthen Boeing’s roots in the region,” said Conner.

In addition to the leadership change at BSC, Boeing announced changes to further integrate the North Charleston site into the overall 787 program. With Wyse moving into a different role, the 787 program will streamline the 787 production system under the continued leadership of Mark Jenks, 787 program vice president and general manager. He will continue reporting to Conner.

“It’s always been clear that there is one 787 program and one production system that encompasses operations in North Charleston and Everett, Wash.,” said Conner. “By more directly linking the reporting relationships we are further integrating BSC into the heart of the program and ensuring the goals and plans at each location are aligned.”

Robinson-Berry’s role encompasses all of the company’s South Carolina businesses, which in addition to the 787 program include and Engineering Design Center, Propulsion-South Carolina, Interiors Responsibility Center-South Carolina, a Boeing Research & Technology laboratory, Information Technology operations and C-17 support. Jenks and the 787 leadership team will focus on the 787 production system.
