Boeing was notified that the International Association of Machinists (IAM) is petitioning the National Labor Relations Board for a union election at the company’s North Charleston, S.C., facilities.
This is the third time that the IAM has petitioned the NLRB for a vote at Boeing South Carolina. The first was in March 2015, and the union ran away from that petition in April 2015, acknowledging limited interest from prospective voters.
We’ve said consistently over the past several years, and we continue to believe, that a union is not in the best interest of our teammates, our business, our community or our state. We think it’s important that our teammates, friends, business colleagues and community leaders in South Carolina know that our position has not changed.
