Boeing files Unemployment Insurance claims

Boeing has filed Unemployment Insurance claims on behalf of all eligible Boeing South Carolina teammates for the week of April 26-May 2.

According to the timeline established by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (SCDEW), eligible teammates should receive unemployment benefits within 48-72 hours after the claims are submitted and processed, which is expected to be early next week.

Boeing’s unique partnership with SCDEW allowed the company to utilize the state’s expedited Employer Filed Claims (EFC) process to submit claims for all eligible, Boeing-badged teammates for the one full work week without pay during the 787 suspension of operations. According to SCDEW, this process is considered significantly faster than individuals filing claims on their own.

Review information about the EFC process, disbursement of benefits, eligibility criteria and more, in the Unemployment FAQ.

If teammates have questions about how this process works, they should visit www.dew.sc.gov or call 1-866-831-1724.
