During the month of February, Boeing South Carolina is honoring Black History Month by sharing the voices of our teammates.
Garrett Jackson is a Structural Analysis Engineer for the Loads Core team at Propulsion South Carolina. Jackson has been with Boeing for eight years and is a member of the South Carolina chapter of the Boeing Black Employees Association (BBEA-SC) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).

Jackson believes Black History Month is a time to reflect on historical events and the traditions of African Americans.
“It’s important to look toward history to uncover things that were often overlooked or undervalued. That insight into the past often helps on the journey to shape your future,” said Jackson.
Jackson is committed to investing in the community around him, especially students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), as he is a graduate of one himself – North Carolina A&T State University. He has volunteered with the HBCU Buddy Program serving as a mentor to college students.
Jackson’s goal is to inspire others as his family inspired him.
“My family always instilled in me the value of Black History Month. I was named after the inventor Garrett Morgan, and I was exposed to many other historical and influential African Americans,” Jackson said. “My family wanted me to feel like I could accomplish whatever it was that I set my mind to.”
