Celebrating 10 years at Boeing South Carolina
After Steve Okurowski graduated from R.B. Stall High School in North Charleston, he began classes at The University of South Carolina. His plans, however, changed.
“That didn’t really work out for me, so I got involved in manufacturing,” Okurowski said. “Fortunately, Boeing came to South Carolina, and there was an opportunity to join.”
Okurowski began working as a Fabrication Specialist in 2009. Since then, he’s had many other roles and responsibilities inside the Aftbody building. Now, he works on Composite Fabrication and Repair and takes time to train others.
“What I like about The Boeing Company most is … you can always take advantage of opportunities here,” Okurowski said.
He also appreciates the site’s diversity.
“There are so many different kinds of people here from all over the world and they all have great ideas. They all pitch in together and come up with a good solution for any problems we have,” Okurowski said.
