2019 ‘Boeing Days’ Kicks Off: Boeing Global Engagement team shares the Boeing South Carolina story across the state

The Boeing South Carolina Global Engagement team is at it again—vowing to visit all 46 counties in South Carolina this year. So far, they have visited Spartanburg, Union, Cherokee, Horry, and Williamsburg counties.

During the Boeing Days tour, members of the BGE team and other teammates visit schools and community groups to present information about Boeing. The presentations include an overview of the BSC site and products, plus information about BSC suppliers and other partnerships in that particular county.

Each presentation also includes an emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education, and helps guide students in the right direction to potentially find a career within Boeing.

“We’re excited to tour the state again this year to show South Carolinians how Boeing South Carolina touches all parts of the state through our partnerships with suppliers and vendors and our non-profit investments,” said Tommy Preston, director of National Strategy and Engagement for BSC.

“When we visit the schools, it’s always surprising how few students know that we’re making airplanes in South Carolina. Our goal is to change that,” Preston said.

Boeing Days will continue in February when the team visits Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties.
