Representatives from 45 Charleston-area nonprofits were at Boeing South Carolina on Friday, Sept. 15, to receive grants totaling nearly $320,000 from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing South Carolina (ECF).
Boeing’s ECF is the largest employee-managed fund in the world. Through the ECF pooled fund, Boeing employees worldwide donate more than $27 million annually to communities where they live and work. Because Boeing pays all associated costs of administering the fund, 100 percent of employee donations go to the community. Since 2012, Boeing South Carolina teammates have given more than $1 million to local nonprofits through ECF.
“It’s a great honor of mine to support what you do in our community,” David Carbon, vice president of 787 Operations at Boeing South Carolina, told the group. “I know the importance of the work you do; you help build the people who build the things we make.”
