Due to the company’s continuing focus on the health and safety of our teammates, and also taking into consideration the status of our global supply chain, the suspension of Boeing South Carolina 787 operations (Airport Campus, Emergent Operations, IRCSC and PSC) will continue until further notice. We continue to carefully assess the situation daily and hope to resume normal operations in the days ahead. We will continue to keep you informed and give you advance notice when that decision is made.
Teammates whose operations are suspended and who are not able to work remotely have received pay for 10 work days during this production suspension. Those 10 work days end at the end of second shift today. At that point, teammates who are not able to telecommute can use paid time off benefits (any combination of available PTO, Vacation, or Sick Leave hours) or charge to Absence Without Pay. Teammates are encouraged to use their paid time away benefits for April 23 because they will likely earn too much during that week to qualify to receive unemployment benefits for that date. Using paid time away benefits for April 23 ensures a full paycheck for that pay week. Boeing will file unemployment claims on behalf of all eligible teammates beginning the week of April 27.
The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (SCDEW) is hosting four virtual, information sessions for Boeing South Carolina (BSC) teammates to learn more about how Boeing will file Unemployment Insurance claims on behalf of all eligible, BSC teammates. Below is the schedule and links to each session. The same links can be used for on-demand viewing.
